Seymour homeowners usually call our Knoxville office about one of two things: a roof that needs attention or an exterior that needs work. Our two Seymour jobs show both. Juvenal was installing vinyl siding on a Seymour home, and Toniel gave a free estimate for a new roof. Mobley Brothers Roofing & Renovation is a roofing company first, and siding is part of the renovation work we do alongside our roofs, which lets the whole exterior of a house work together.

Seymour is a smaller part of our workload than the towns near Hardin Valley. Our crews work in Seymour from the Knoxville office. What we can show you is how we work, and the people who would be on your roof.
Where Seymour sits in our service area
Seymour is an unincorporated community southeast of Knoxville that spans Sevier and Blount counties, on the far side of the city from our Knoxville office in Hardin Valley. It is one of the 20 communities our Knoxville office serves. Because Seymour has no city government of its own, building permits run through the county. Sevier County's Building Inspections department handles permits for the unincorporated parts of that county, and Blount County's building office covers addresses on its side of the line.

Siding that works with the roof
Siding and roofing meet where water does the most damage: along walls where a roof runs into siding, around chimneys, and at the fascia and soffit under the eaves. When one team handles both, the flashing and the siding go on in the right order, and nobody blames the other trade when a stain shows up on an inside wall. We install and repair vinyl, wood and fiber cement siding, along with the fascia and soffit that tie it to the roof.
Vinyl, like the Seymour install Juvenal worked on, is the most common request. When old siding comes off, what is underneath sometimes needs attention, such as soft sheathing or water damage behind a wall. If we find it, we photograph it and show you before anything else happens, the same way we handle hidden decking on a roof. There is more on materials and repairs on our siding installation page.
Two customers of our Knoxville office described siding work with us. CM wrote: "We had our roof, gutters, and siding replaced by Mobley Brothers. We couldn't be happier with the work their crews performed." Matthew J. wrote: "We've recieved several comments about how nice our new siding and gutters look."
Getting an estimate for a new roof in Seymour
Toniel's Seymour job was a free estimate for a new roof, and that visit looks the same wherever we go. We start with a satellite measurement and a proposal that allows for soft decking or failing flashing, because a picture from above will not show those. We look at the roof in person before install day, and sooner if you have a concern. We photograph what we find. You then get an electronic written proposal with the terms, the materials and colors, and a stated cost for anything that might turn up during tear-off, such as decking boards or a skylight that needs replacing rather than reflashing.
An estimate does not always end in a new roof. If the roof has good years left and the trouble is a pipe boot or a stretch of flashing, we will tell you and quote the repair instead. That is how the company has always worked: repair when we can, replace when we should.
When replacement is the right call, we install architectural shingles as a GAF Master Elite residential contractor, or metal roofing if it suits the house. We do not install three-tab shingles. During the work, where required, the Catch-All system protects the siding, windows and landscaping below the roof, which matters even more if you just had new siding put on. Our roof replacement page lays out the full process.

Weather, age and what to watch for
East Tennessee brings heavy rain, humid summers and the occasional windstorm, and all three work on a roof and its siding. Humidity trapped in a poorly ventilated attic can leave ceiling stains that look like a leak. Leaves that sit in valleys and around pipe boots through the fall hold water where it can rot the roof. Wind finds loose siding panels and lifted shingles first. A yearly look, and another after a big storm, catches most of this while it is still a small repair.
Seymour roofing and siding questions
Does it matter whether I am on the Sevier or Blount side of Seymour?
Not for who comes out or how we work. Seymour is on the Knoxville office's service list as one community. Your county can change who issues a permit, and we will cover that at the estimate.
Can you do my roof and siding at the same time?
Yes. Roofing and siding are both part of what we do, and pairing them lets one team handle the flashing and trim where the two meet. We can quote both together, and where required the Catch-All system protects the property while the roof work is underway.
Is Mobley Brothers a local company?
We are a Tennessee family business, founded in 2007 by brothers Mike and David Mobley. Mike runs the East Tennessee office from Hardin Valley and David runs the Middle Tennessee office in Lebanon. The company is family owned and veteran owned, GAF Master Elite, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, and holds Tennessee contractor license 59116.
What if a storm damages my roof or siding?
Call the Knoxville office. Emergency calls are taken day or night, and on-site timing depends on the weather and safe working conditions. We assess the damage, make the repairs, and help document it for an insurance claim.
Shingle roofing services in Seymour, TN
The new roof estimate Toniel gave in Seymour was, like nearly every house in this part of East Tennessee, a conversation about shingles. Shingle roofing services cover a lot more ground than a full replacement, though, and most of the Seymour homeowners who call our Knoxville office need the smaller end of that range first.
On the repair side, that means the parts of a shingle roof that fail before the shingles themselves do: pipe boots that crack in the sun, step flashing where a roof runs into a wall, ridge caps that lift in a windstorm, and a valley that has filled with leaves and is holding water. Any one of those can put a stain on a ceiling while the roof still looks perfectly fine from the street.
On the replacement side, it means taking the old roof off, repairing whatever the tear off exposes in the decking, and installing architectural shingles with the intake and exhaust the attic needs, because a hot attic works on shingles from underneath. What we will not do is settle any of this from the driveway. A roof with good years left in it deserves a repair quote, not a replacement pitch, and a roof inspection is how we tell the difference. Our architectural shingle roofing page goes through the materials and what an installation includes.
