Wind can pop vinyl panels loose or tear them off, and impacts crack them. A few damaged pieces can usually be replaced without redoing the wall. We have replaced strips of siding blown off a chimney chase and sections cracked in storms.

Wood siding and trim rot where water sits: at the bottom edges, around windows and doors, and where a roof meets a wall. Dormers are a frequent trouble spot, especially when the siding and flashing were installed wrong to begin with.

When water gets behind siding for long enough, the sheathing underneath goes soft. We open the wall, show you what we find, replace the bad sheathing, and close it up with proper flashing so the water stops.

Faded or warped vinyl and peeling paint on wood are often cosmetic at first, but they can also be a sign that moisture or heat is getting where it should not. We will tell you which is which.

Gaps in siding and damaged soffit invite squirrels, birds and insects. We have cleaned out nests behind siding and replaced soffit that animals chewed through, then sealed the opening so they do not come back.

Roof, gutters, fascia, soffit and siding all meet at the same edges, and most leaks start where one trade's work meets another's. Because we handle all of them, nobody is pointing at someone else's work. Many customers have us do the roof, gutters and siding together.

We frame new gables and reframe rooflines. One project Mike described called for new gables on the front and back of a ranch-style house, framed openings for large windows and a French door, new siding on the new walls, and a standing seam metal roof over all of it.

A hot, humid attic cooks shingles and can grow mold that homeowners mistake for a roof leak. For one homeowner whose air conditioning could not keep up, we removed the old ridge vent and sealed it up, installed solar power vents and blew insulation into the attic. He told us the attic dropped from around 120 degrees to about 80.
