Choose a Local Company

Anyone can set up a P.O. Box and put it down as an address on their website. However, finding a truly local company is easy. First, check out their reviews. Do any of them talk about local communities and neighborhoods? Next, look at their website, does it talk about your area? Some out-of-town roofers will just have one page that mentions the locality whereas true Knoxville roofers have many references to Knoxville and other local areas throughout the website.

Another way to check is look at the local Better Business Bureau (BBB) site. If they are local, they will be listed, whether they are a member or not. You’ll also be able to see their rating, which can give you even more information about the company. Lastly, look at their Google My Business page. Check for Insurance, Licensing & Ratings or Reviews

We already mentioned the BBB who rates companies. You can also find reviews on most other sites. Places like Facebook, Angie’s List and Google don’t allow the business to delete or alter reviews making them more realistic.

Any trusted roofing company will have licensing and insurance. Although not all Knoxville roofers are licensed, the one you hire should be. The licensing shows that they have basic roofing knowledge as well as business acumen and know the law. Insurance protects both you and the company.
